Gusi Peace Prize achieved by Farhan Wilayat Butt

Gusi Peace Prize (Asia Nobel Prize Counterpart) is one of the most prestigious and highly ranked peace award of Asia which is presented by Gusi Peace Prize Foundation (based in Manila, Philippines) to the individuals who contribute to global peace and progress through a wide variety of fields including human rights, peace, communal harmony, health, education, culture, politics and humanity. Being one of the highest ranking Asian awards, it is sometimes recognized as Nobel Prize of Asia. In 2019, Farhan Wilayat Butt (a philanthropist and social activist from Lahore, Pakistan) achieved this award in a glittering and colourful ceremony at the Philippine International Convention Center (Manila, Philippines) upon successful completion of Sindh Water Relief Project (a charity project founded by him for arrangement of clean drinking water for underprivileged and marginalized communities residing in the desert areas of Tharparkar through more than 200 water wells, hand pumps, summer pumps and solar pumps till date), as well as, on his interfaith activities to raise voice for the rights and protection of religious minorities and to fight against religious extremism, sectarian violence and racial intolerance in Pakistan.
